1. Free return of used batteries

Batteries must not be disposed of via household waste. They are legally obligated to return old batteries, so that proper disposal can be ensured. They can dispose of old batteries at a municipal collection point or in the trade on the spot. We are also obligated as a distributor of batteries for the withdrawal of old batteries, whereby our obligation to take back is limited to old batteries of the kind that we lead or lead as new batteries in our assortment. 2. Meaning of the battery symbols

Batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out bin (see below). This symbol indicates that batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. In the case of batteries containing more than 0.0005% by weight of mercury, more than 0.002% by mass of cadmium or more than 0.004% by weight of lead, the chemical name of the particular pollutant used is "Cd" for cadmium, "Pb "Stands for lead, and" Hg "for mercury."

 

 

3. Vehicle batteries

 

In the sale of vehicle batteries (these are batteries which are intended for the starter, the lighting or the ignition of vehicles) the following peculiarities apply: The seller is acc. § 10 BattG obliges an end-user to charge a deposit of € 7.50 including VAT if the end user does not return the vehicle to the seller at the time of the purchase of the new vehicle battery. The customer receives a pawn for the purchase of a vehicle battery. The customer can return the old vehicle battery to the seller for reimbursement of the collected deposit. On the basis of the Dangerous Goods Ordinance the dispatch of the old vehicle battery to the seller is not permitted. Alternatively, the customer can return the old vehicle battery to a return point set up by the public-law disposal authority. If the vehicle waste battery is not returned to the seller, the person entitled to collect the goods in accordance with § 11 (3) BattG which withdraws the vehicle waste battery is obligated, upon request, to confirm to the end-user in writing or electronically. In this case, the customer will be refunded by the seller if he submits to the seller a written or electronic proof of return in accordance with § 10 para. 1 sentence 4 of the German Federal Act on Battalion, which is not older than two weeks
